The Stadscampus site is part of the Tilburg rail precinct and is enclosed by the new station square and the former state railway workshops on the north side of the tracks. The development plan envisages an ensemble of three buildings grouped around a central courtyard that provides access to the locomotive shed behind it, an industrial monument that will house the city library.
Along Burgemeester Brockxlaan, the ensemble is flanked by a residential tower containing some 120 apartments. The building has a classic organization of pedestal, shaft and crown. Together they form a monolithic figure with a vertical articulation of brick pilasters and bay windows.
The floor plan has a rational construction layout, with a compact core and a periphery of apartments and bay windows. The latter constitute relatively quiet outdoor spaces with vertical sliding windows that can be opened in summer and in winter closed to create an additional, insulated room.
